Other Cheesey Creations

Not everything in the lab comes as a download. These are the ones built for me, my family and the people around me. A couple live on a phone, a couple live behind a password. Here's what they are and why they exist.

Nudge

iPhone · family beta

Never forget a gift again.

A wishlist app for the people you actually buy for. Spot something in any app, send it straight in from the share sheet, and it lands enriched: name, brand, where to buy it. Point the camera at a thing you can't name and it works out what it is. The good part is the two-sided bit: you can plan a gift, claim it so nobody doubles up, and decide whether to reveal yourself or stay a mystery. Surprises survive. My family runs on it.

Soma

iPhone · daily driver

Whoop, without the subscription.

A recovery and longevity tracker built on a cheap fitness band. The app was the easy half. The real work was reverse-engineering the band's undocumented Bluetooth protocol until it gave up everything: sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, temperature, and the full history buried in its memory. It now reads nights the band's own app never showed me, and it's been on my wrist ever since.

Kiroku

Web · private

Every meeting, remembered.

Meeting notes go stale the moment the call ends. Kiroku takes the raw transcript of every conversation, keeps it as the permanent record, and layers the useful things on top: what was decided, who owes what, what came up before. Years of meetings become something you can search instead of something you half-remember. The rule it's built on: the raw record is the truth, and it never shrinks.

Stash

Web + Telegram · private

Send a link, get a library.

Everyone has a graveyard of links they meant to come back to. Send anything to a Telegram bot and it comes back as a proper card on a private board: read, sorted, filed. Then it goes further and pulls out what was actually in there: the recipe, the repo, the tool, the track, the list. Those become a library you can search, so a saved link turns into something you can use instead of something you lost.

Everything here is vibe-coded, same as the rest of the lab. The ones that earn their keep graduate into real products. That's how Glow and Perch got out of here.
